WHAT ARE OROFACIAL MYOFUNCTIONAL DISORDERS?

 

Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders are habitual abnormal patterned function of the muscles within of the face and mouth.

These disorders may affect breastfeeding, chewing, swallowing, speech, jaw movement, facial and skeletal growth, orthodontic treatment, facial appearance, breathing, and more.

ORAL MYOFUNCTIONAL THERAPY

 

 

Is used to correct and provide a positive solution to aid in correction of Oral Myofunctional Disorders. Thes disorders can be associated with mild to moderate sleep apnea, snoring, improper jaw growth, dental crowding, high decay, poor digestion from improper swallowing techniques, headaches, temporal mandibular joint dysfunction (TMJD), facial esthetics, periodontal disease, stabilazion of dental concerns, cervical and spine pain, as well as many other common aliments.

Myofunctional Therapy can help with all of these issues.
